Pictures from the Grapevine Mills Event have been added.  I've also added some extra pictures of some kids doing the Kids Challenge.  For all the women out there, additional pictures of one of the firemen were submitted so I added them on here as well.

Both Altus relay teams made it to the semi-final round.  One team vs McKinney and the other vs Memphis.  The new rules for the Streamlight Relay Challenge definitely bring out the best of the best and that's why both Altus teams advanced all the way to the next to last round.  Unfortunately Altus was unable to pull off a double-win to make it an Altus vs Altus relay run but they gave their opponents their money's worth and put in a great show for all the fans that attended.  Good job Altus, everyone in the Challenge Community definitely knows who you are.

Our hometown boys have just returned from the NFL/Potomac Mills event in Woodbridge, VA.  This was an invitation only event and they wanted them Altus boys to attend and put up a fight...which they did.  I don't have the official results, I'm waiting to the main Challenge website to post them, but I was told this morning that the Dr. Pepper Relay team, comprised of Kenny Ward, Jimmy Rogers, Tim Sullivan, Greg Nettleton and Joe Buchanan, tied for 5th place.  39 total teams registered for the "Relay" so Altus finished at the top of the invitation-only elite teams.  Tommy Sadler also registered for the "Over 50" category but I haven't heard on how he placed.  I will put it on here as soon as I find out.  If anyone has any further information or even pictures for me to post here on the website, please contact me at AznMan17@aol.com.  Way to go Altus!!!

If anyone has any information concerning this year's team, like new members, members from last year, or anything pertaining to this great bunch of guys, please email me at AznMan17@aol.com.  I live about 4 hours away from Altus so some bits of information are a little tougher for me to obtain.   My recent attempts to get the latest news on the team and their happenings have been unsuccessful.  I'm looking to update the "People" page with the list of members as well as their pictures and possibly a little bio.  And for those that are able to attend the NFL, if you have any pictures from this event (April 7th), please contact me, I'd like to get them on here.  Thanks!

The Combat Challenge Team would like to express a special thanks to their sponsor, Dr. Pepper's own James and Carla Thompson of Vernon, TX.  Their generous donation will assist the team in purchasing new racing gear for the 2001 season as well as other items needed to help bring this top notch team to the championships in Memphis, TN.

According to the Altus Times Online, your Altus Combat Challenge Firefighters will be sponsoring the 2nd Annual Burnout Competition during the Altus Rock 'N' Rumble Car Show and Cruise.  This year's competition will be take place on Saturday, May 5th at 2pm at the same location as last year, Industrial Drive.  Last year's Burnout was a blast and featured many contestants that really put on a show.  If you weren't able to attend last year, you definitely don't want to miss it this year, it's bound to be bigger, better and more exciting.  Here are a couple of images from the 2000 Burnout, click on the image to view the larger image.
